Costs & Billing – Frequently Asked Questions

Introduction

We want you to feel well informed at all times.
Whether you have private health insurance, statutory insurance, have been referred by an insurance company, or prefer to pay yourself — all patients are welcome in our practice.

Please note that we do not have a contract with the statutory health insurance system (GKV).
For this reason, we cannot settle accounts directly with statutory health insurance funds.
Patients with statutory insurance receive an invoice based on the German Medical Fee Schedule (GOÄ), just like privately insured patients.
Reimbursement by statutory insurers is generally not possible.

Our friendly neuron shows: Billing according to GOÄ – fair, transparent and clear.

Services that are listed in the German Medical Fee Schedule (GOÄ) are billed in accordance with the GOÄ.

If you wish, we can review your insurance conditions or prepare a cost estimate. This helps to keep the risk of partial or non-reimbursement by your health insurance as low as possible.

If you send us relevant medical reports and a brief description of your symptoms in advance, we can estimate the expected costs.
If you wish, we can also agree on a maximum budget to provide planning security.

Private Health Insurance

Will my private health insurance cover the costs?

  • Private health insurance companies generally reimburse our examinations and diagnostic services if they are medically indicated. If you are unsure, please check with your insurance provider in advance to what extent reimbursement is possible. We can also inform you about the expected costs during the appointment scheduling process.

Do I need to pay in advance?

  • Usually not. After the examination, you will receive an invoice which you can submit to your insurance provider. If you prefer, you may also pay by card on site. Cash payments are not possible for organisational reasons.

Self-Payers

  • Can I pay for the examination myself?
Yes. You are welcome to use our services as a self-payer even if you do not have private health insurance.
  • How do I find out the costs?
All medical services that are included in the German medical fee schedule (GOÄ) are billed according to the GOÄ, regardless of insurance status.
  • How can I pay?
Payment can be made conveniently by bank transfer after receiving the invoice or optionally directly on site using our card terminal.
    Cash payments are not possible.

Statutory Health Insurance

  • Do you also treat patients with statutory health insurance?
Yes. Patients with statutory (public) health insurance are always welcome to use our diagnostic services and consultations.
Please note that we are not able to bill statutory health insurers directly. For these patients, the same conditions as for self-paying patients apply.
  • How does the billing work?
You will receive an invoice based on the GOÄ, just like privately insured patients. You pay this invoice yourself as a self-payer.
  • Will my statutory health insurance reimburse the costs?
Reimbursement by your statutory health insurance is generally not possible.

Appointment by Invitation from an Insurance Company or Employers’ Liability Insurance Association

  • I have received an invitation from my insurance company or employers’ liability insurance – what do I need to know?
If you have been referred to us by your private accident insurer, private health insurance company, or employers’ liability insurance association, your examination usually takes place with full cost coverage. Billing is handled directly by us with the cost bearer.
  • Do I need to prepare anything in advance?
Please bring the invitation letter or written cost coverage confirmation with you. This ensures that all necessary documents are complete and direct billing can take place.
  • Will there be any additional costs for me?
No additional costs will arise for you. All necessary services will of course be provided by us. Any services explicitly desired by you that go beyond the planned examination will be discussed with you in advance.
